Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, positively evaluated the Completion of the First Stage of the Executive Power Formation in Ukraine and called for the Formation of the Effective Coalition in Ukraine
"Uncertainty can not last forever and I am firmly against statements regarding the unconstitutional or illegitimate character of the coalition formation", - V. Lytvyn declared during the interview for Rada television channel on Friday.
According to V.Lytvyn, in the present-day complicated political and social-economic situation "one is supposed to use all the opportunities to organize the work instead of remaining inactive trying to find excuses for it in the Constitution of Ukraine, on the background of the complete plundering the state."
The Head of the Parliament mentioned that the process of the executive power formation had always been complicated and caused an outburst of dissatisfaction not only on the part of the opposition but also among the winners.
V. Lytvyn declared that "it is easier to demonstrate the oppositional character from that niche, shout, criticize but remain inactive." "If one wants to declare one´s activity in the opposition, one shall do at least something for the state and people, deserving the right to be in the opposition", - he stated and added that the majority of those who named themselves oppositionists, "have neither moral nor even human right to declare it."
As to the lack of unity among the members of the opposition, the Head of the Parliament declared that he did not suppose it was wrong to "fight for the right to be the real opposition." It is the most important that the state gets the positive result of this fighting in the form of the essential laws and resolutions upheld by the People´s Deputies and implemented in life, he stressed.
V. Lytvyn also stated that the opposition "is able, I would dare to say, is even obliged to form the oppositional Government." "It is essential to produce propositions, solutions and what is not less important to supervise the activity of the active Cabinet of Ministers", - he emphasized.
The Head of the Parliament deems necessary to restore the practice of the "Government Question Hour" on Friday of each plenary week. Such an approach, according to V. Lytvyn, may be useful for the country.
"Opposition is not a synonym to the work "idling." It is the same work under the condition you suggest, demand and produce initiatives and make everything possible so that the acting power compares its decisions with the alternative point of view", - V.Lytvyn stated.
